Different Types Of Aircraft Lavatories?
How does the vacuum aircraft lavatories in newer aircraft differ from the recirculating lavatories in older aircraft in general and advantage/disadvantage?Why does an additional light come on when the lav door is locked/occupied?Finally what type of lavatories were used in the vintage propliners?
the recirculation type have it's own reservoir, pump and filter underneath the toilet bowl. It's treated with racasan blue chemical and it's serviced individually. The vacuum type have a vacuum blower which is connected to several lavatories and have a common tank usually located at the bulk cargo area of the a/c. The water is sprinkled into the bowl and get sucked by the vacuum blower.
