Looking for a good hot dog meat sauce to serve over hot dogs and hamburgers, fries, etc.?
I grew up a small village in upstate NY. and live close to Rochester, NY where meat sauce is served over hot dogs, hamburgers, fr. fries, etc. In fact, there is a well known specialty dish called the "Garbage Plate" which features a meat sauce topping over everything on the plate, including your choice of 2 hots, or 2 hamburgs, or 1 of each and sides of macaroni salad, baked beans. The sauce is then served over the top of it all. I prefer my sauce just on my hot dogs, the way I grew up eating it in LeRoy, NY, my hometown, and where I still live. There was the best little hot dog place called Jerry's and they had the best, bar none, meat sauce. Wish I had some if it right now. Anyone have a such a recipe?? Thanks
Hmmm....aside from chili dogs, we don't really have that kind of thing up here in Canada
