Mints and Candles??
My reception is outside at 6pm... My colors are sage and yellow, with a little pink. For the centerpieces, i was thinking about a 7 in vase with glass stones and votive candles in the bottom.. The stones would be colored (not sure what color).. We also wanted little candy mints in dishes on the tables as well. Do you think this would all be okay or not enough? If so, flowers aren't an option... Too expensive for our budget. I want something that provides light, but also fits our personality and theme of bright and airy and not too stiff. Help????
The mints are something we grew up with and love. It takes us back to our childhood... It's our favorite part of the reception..... They're the little pink, green, and yellow ones shaped like little hershey kisses.
What you might want to do is get the vases and put in clear colored stones. Then you can get some of those submerisble floralytes (you could get different colors for each table) and put that at the bottom of the vases. The light will flow out and reflect off the stone. I think that would look beautiful and would definitely add a lot of light. The floralytes are fairly inexpensive. Kind of like this:

I have a small ceramic vase with birds on it and its in mint condition. It say's "masden Occupied Japan" on the bottom, and I would like to learn more about it.

I expect Masden (or Madsen) is a makers name or the location of the factory. If it is not that clear could it be "Made in" occupied Japan ?
I imagine this might be a collectable item.
