4 Steps In Turning Your Nintendo Ds Into An Ipod
In order to change your Nintendo DS console into an iPod, below are the additional things that you will need:
1. Nintendo DS.
2. A PC with Internet Access.
3. Loads of songs in .mp3 format (Can be downloaded at DSi Download Center)
4. R4 DS Adaptor.
5. SD card.
6. Adaptor which allows the SD card to hook up to your PC.
7. Software already installed onto your DS to allow the R4 cartridge to work.
Please note that the software in point 7 is already a built-in software device in every Nintendo DS model.
As for both R4 DS Adaptor and SD card, they can be purchased at Amazon or the nearest game store for less than $10.
Step 1
Take out the SD card from the R4 cartridge, insert the (micro) SD card into the adapter which allow insertion and connectivity with your computer or laptop. Once the adaptor is inserted with your computer, a folder of the removable drive will pop-up on the computer screen.
Step 2
Create a new folder inside the folder of the SD card entitled with “iPod”. Search for the “LMP-ng” (stands for Lick Music Player) with google search engine, download the latest version of the LMP application. This software is user to play music on your DS handheld, designed by Lick, who is the inventor of iPod. And now this software can be used on your DS.
Step 3
Once you downloaded the ‘Lick Music Player’ onto your computer, copy the file into the iPod folder that created earlier. After that, take out the SD card from your computer, insert back to the R4 cartridge and to DS handheld.
Step 4
Turn on your DS, look for the entitled ‘iPod’ folder, it will ask you whether you want to save the file answer ‘yes’, then a replica of the iPod design image should appear on the above and bottom screens of the DS.
Congratulation, you have successfully installed the Lick Music Player application on your DS and now you can use it to play music in mp3 and mp4 format only. If you have followed through the steps and it doesn’t work, then you need to repeat the steps again.
You can download unlimited amounts of music from DSi Download Center. There are more than 200 categories of download within the website. Ds games, movies, music and tv shows are available for download.
You can upload the music to your DS when downloading from DSi Download Center by following the above steps with your SD card.
