Boil water kills the antioxidants in white tea?
Only I have to drink for health benefits, I'm not too keen on the taste. I read a lot about how Boiling water kills the antioxidants and how certain minerals 'bind' the tap antioxidants. Is this true? How I can get more anti-oxidants and health benefits of white tea? Thanks - but do not really care if its bitter taste, I will not drink for the taste anyway, the supposed health benefits.
Boiling water will not cause any problems, but pouring boiling water over tea black or green, burn tea leaves and could not only destroy any flavor, but may damage some healthy compounds. The water should be around 170F. I like white tea, on all with a teaspoon of buckwheat honey. If you're drinking something for your health, you might as well try to prepare so there's a chance that you Enjoy. I like a lot of things that are good for me (tea, coffee, dark chocolate additional blueberries), but I refuse to buy something I can not stand (weak / Burnt tea, coffee bad / stale, sweetened fruit juice, castor oil) just because they are supposed to be "good for me"
