Gull-stone symptoms but not gull-stones?
Recently my wife started having pains in her abdomen that reached from just under the solar plexus, and around her right side to her back. The pain was a 10 and has been since without pain meds. On the first visit they thought it was gull stones and did an ultrasound, but found nothing! They prescribed vicodin and it works but as soon as it wares off shes in pain again. On second visit they did a CT and also came out negative! More Vicodin! I'm worried that its some kind of infection or internal bleeding! Now we are waiting for emergency Medi-Cal so she can see a stomach specialist, and i can see a slight rising if the skin on the right side of her back! Has anyone experienced these symptoms? Please answer!
It still could be her gall bladder playing up, I had similar problems, where I was taken to the ER, with vomiting, wind, fever, shocking pain that radiated from upper abdomen through to the right shoulder blade, this happen a number of times. Like your wife the ultrasound and CT showed nothing.
I was eventually sent for nuclear ultrasound, the technician injected a radioactive tracer & cholecystokin into the vain, and over a period of an hour or two they did a scan of my gall bladder, it turned out my gall bladder was not working effectively, which is what was causing the pain.
My doctor booked me to see a specialist who said that the gall bladder needed to come out, I put on a urgent list, but did not make it a few days later I found myself back up the hospital having emergency cholecystectomy.
Fatty & spicy foods can exacerbate the symptoms of gall bladder, so avoid or limit fatty & spicy foods. You might like to ask you wife's doctor about gall bladder diet. If you ask your wife which she would choose child birth or this pain she'd say child birth.
