Why is the sky blue and the grass is green?
In both cases it's because of light refraction.
As far as the sky goes, Earth's atmosphere tends to scatter the blue wavelengths of the Sun's light which makes the sky blue.
As to grass, chlorophyl absorbs most wavelegths of light except the green, which is what is reflected back into our eyes.

Other scenic byways will reveal the western prairie country or the beginning of the lake country in central Minnesota. All of them offer amazing scenes and family fun for your Minnesota photography.
The final (and maybe only) destination for your Minnesota photography is the spectacular northern portion of the state. For anyone who craves the serenity and once-in-a-lifetime adventures of the Great North Woods, this region of Minnesota acts like a giant magnet. Every conceivable kind of outdoor activity is available here, during every season of the year, which means your Minnesota photography album will start to bulge quickly.
The three major wild areas of the north are the Chippewa National Forest, the huge expanses of state forests and the enormous Lake of the Woods on the border with Ontario, and the Superior National Forest along northwest Lake Superior. For a more leisurely, relaxed visit, travel the many scenic byways in these northern regions. Take a more rugged path or waterway into what is some of the most pristine and truly wild country of the lower 48 states for scenes and vistas of Minnesota photography that maybe no one has ever recorded.

Why is the sky blue and the grass green?
I have heard that the sky is blue because it is a reflection of the ocean, and the grass is green because of the clorofil, but i just want some more info on the topic.
The atmosphere around the Earth is largely made up of two colorless gases: oxygen and nitrogen. Red and blue light reacts very different from each other to oxygen. Because the wavelength of blue light is roughly the size of an atom of oxygen, blue light interacts with the oxygen and is scattered by it, while red light, with its longer wavelength, goes right pass the oxygen atoms. If the Earth had no atmosphere, the sun’s light would travel directly from the Sun in a straight line towards our eyes and we would see the Sun as a very bright star in sea of blackness. But because the Sun’s blue light is scattered by the oxygen in the atmosphere, blue light from the Sun enters our eyes from all sorts of different angles and we see the entire sky as blue. The atmosphere scatters violet light even more effectively, but our eyes are more sensitive to blue. Wherever we look towards the sky, some light is bouncing off an oxygen atom and entering our eyes, making the sky appear to be blue.
Like many plants, most species of grass produce a bright pigment called chlorophyll. Chorophyll absorbs blue light (high energy, short wavelengths) and red light (low energy, longer wavelengths) well, but mostly reflects green light, which accounts for your lawn's color.
