Can anyone tell me the the significance, if any, of the US Zone mark on Konigl.pr.tettau china? What yrs would?
My china is cream colored rimmed in gold, red floral design in center and three points around edge. It is stamped with the Konifl.pr.Tettau 1794 US Zone Germany. I know a little about the 1794 and a little about the King of Prussua's permission for china makers to use the royal stamp. However, I do not know the significance of the US Zone. Does any one know what the US Zone mark represents, what yrs, and potential value, if any?
When Germany was defeated the Allies had zones of occupation and your china was made in the Zone occupied by the USA. The British,French and American zone became West Germany and the Russia became EasT Germany until down came the wall and Reunification. you may find products marked with East and West. Now it's just Germany
