I was wondering if anybody could tell me about Royal Coburg china?
Specifically, the Countess pattern (gold and white with leaf design). My grandmother left me a full set. I tried to look it up on replacements but they only had a few patterns and it seems this company is no longer in business.
From what I could figure in my book on antiquities, the Royal Coburg line of fine bone china dinner services was originally from Germany, where it was descended from a mark used by the RS Prussian factory.
The Countess pattern is one of the lovelier sets issued and was also the one of first to be discontinued. Currently, the only patterns available, as you correctly saw, are the Amelia, Chateau Rose, Danube, Golden Buttercup, Musette, Sovereign and two patterns identified only by numbers: 010775 and 22411.
I can find no trace of the company, nor who distributes what remains of existing stock save that on Replacements Ltd - http://www.replacements.com/china/RCB.htm
You might need to try some of the specialist antique dealers or even Portobello Road as a last resort.
Hope that was of use to you.

My grandma left me a few pieces of Royal Violet China pattern with gold edging. Anyone familiar with it?
Since it is the only momentum I have of my grandma, I just wanted to know more about it. She was born in 1904 and just died at 104 last year, but she didn't remember where she had gotten it. I googled and saw the pattern WITHOUT the gold edging, but none with.
is it royal albert bone china-it should have a hallmark on the bottom of sorts-actually need to see a couple of photos posted as there are many violet patterns.your grandmother lived a long life and probably had lot of lovely family meals on the china i hope you will cherish it and pass it down too, email me if you get some photos i will try to look it up for you=happy memorial weekend
