Firing a Kiln after your pottery has been painted...?
I have heard it takes about 24 hours to fire your pottery in a kiln (at the last firing). Places like "paint your own pottery" for instance...do they sit there after hours when the store is closed, and fire the kiln? If so, does someone have to sit there and watch it for 24 hours? If you have this experience, please let me know what you do and how that works.
Thank you
It takes my kiln about 9 hours to run...then it takes another 12 or so for it to cool off enough to open it. They probably don't "just sit there"...Electric kilns can be set on timers and have safety shut offs.
