I have a Pottery Barn Dining table dented with superficial scratches none are down to the wood, how can I fix?
the scratches occurred over the last year none of them are down to the wood where the finish is removed but they are visible and aesthetically do not look nice,, the finish is pretty dark, a mahogany.. the manufacturer says this of the wood: Tabletop and leaf are crafted from mahogany, veneers and MDF. can this be refinished? Im afraid that If I sand it I wont be able to replicate the dark stain and that I might ruin the table altogether... HELP
You can buy scratch filling sticks - look like crayons - to fill in minor scratching. They come in a variety of shades that you can mix and match.
Be very careful if you sand. The table top is probably veneered and veneer can be less than 1/16" thick. It doesn't take much effort to sand through it.
