How much would be a good price for a 2004 BMP Convention Piece?
This is one of Blue Mountain Pottery's final 40 pieces ever made! This would be the 3 sided triangular vase with a picture of each one of the BMP logo's that was used over the course of the companies lifespan on it, along with the date the logo started to be used. Only 40 of these were produced and it is in mint condition, including store display tags, original BMP store bag it came with and a receipt for its purchase. Any assistance would be appreciated!!
Blue Mountain Pottery was Canada's largest manufacturer of quality pottery from its introduction in 1947 until the plant closed in December 2004. The site below lists their collectors and dealers.
The three sided vase that has a different logo on each side-- 3 jugs 1949, 3 trees 1968, and waves 1976--was designed on commission by Dave Bennett. He was the last designer at BMP to design the souvenirs and to make them in his own studio. The vase was not only the last commemorative made at the factory in 2004, it was also the second (as only one commemorative was done before then). However, Bennett has the rights to continue making the commemoritives even though the factory is closed. So he did the wolf vase for 2005, the 2007 rabbit, the 2008 snowy owl, etc, so I'm not sure how your vase will be valued since they are all considered convention pieces..
