Small Things in Environment Protection
Environment is the basis for habitation, it is everybody’s duty to protect environment. We should start from the little things under our noses and reduce pollution.
1? We must follow the rules about throwing away various waste, we should throw the waste to designated place, especially don’t litter disused battery at will.
2? We should try our best to save written materials in studying and put an end to waste. Such as pencil, it makes from wood, because wasting pencil is the same as destroyed forest.
3? We should try our best to avoid using disposable cups, foam lunch-boxes, plastic bags and disposable scoops. We can use pottery cups, paper lunch-boxes, cloth bags and common scoop instead, in this case it is reduced garbage greatly.
4? Don’t kill wild animals at will, especially humanbeing’s good friends, such as frogs. A frog can eat about 15.000 insects in a year, most of those are pests.
5? We should take good care of plants, don’t destroy greenbelt and should take an active part in tree planting.
6? Don’t forget to turn off the light and take the plug out of the socket when we leave a room.
7? We should do our best to use energy-saving lights for common lights, though energy-saving lights’ price is a little bit higher, it reduce a lot of electricity.
8? We should save water, please turn off the tap while you are brushing teeth.
9? When we drive cars please slow down, this can reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide.
10? Try your best to protect the vegetation. You will keep a good score when you are golf if you have the green grass in sight, isn't it?
So it is plain that doing some small matters around us can avoid environmental pollution. Now the people’s standard of living is constantly improving, but we should not forget that we should do a good job of protecting environment.
