Do you have information about the potterer, Alberto G. Macias, who worked in El Paso, Texas in the 1900s?
Don Alberto lived on Francis Street, where the pottery factory (Pottery) was located. This was a long time before Paisano was built. This was when Jefferson was Burleson.
Don Antonio and Jesucita, and their family of 3 boys and 1 daughter, also lived there.
Some neighborhood teens worked with Don Alberto at the Pottery. For example, "El Gordito" helped out. Several family members and cousins from Chihuahua also helped.
Pottery products were sold to a Mr. Beach (spelling ?). Ex: Quantities of ashtray sombreritos were sold to Mr. Beach so that he could sell them in his downtown store as "curios" to tourists visiting El Paso. Mr. Beach's store was located on El Paso Street, on a corner across the street from the Paso Del Norte Hotel. Sometimes Don Alberto and Mr. Beach held meetings at the Paso Del Norte Hotel, in order to discuss their business transactions.
Don Alberto worked in his Pottery from the early 1900s to the late 1940s. His picture appeared in a textbook
