Chai tea
Chai tea has only recently become popular in western countries despite it being enjoyed in many parts of the world for centuries, especially in India.
Like any tea, Chai can vary slightly in flavour. Basically, it is a black tea, brewed with a selection of spices including: cloves, pepper, cardamon, ginger and cinnamon. It is a sweet tea, that is served hot usually with milk and sugar.
Although it is described as a sweet tea, it does have a definite bite to it because of the spices used. This is a great tea for serving guests, or if you feel like a nice hot cup of tea to enjoy while relaxing.
Green tea
Green teas offers a real fresh leaf taste, is high in antioxidant properties and lower in caffeine.
If you would like to try green tea with a twist, there are many varieties which combine lemon or orange to give the tea a citrus twist. Similarly, other varieties combine artichoke and other flavours with green tea. As it is one of the four main types of teas there are many flavours and varieties for you to try.
Green tea is generally served hot and with no milk or sugar added.
Chamomile tea
Chamomile tea is well-known for being a great tea to help reduce tension, treat a sore stomach, relieve stress, help relax the muscles and have restful sleep. It's the perfect tea to brew after a long day at work, or if you are having trouble sleeping.
Chamomile tea is also a great tea to serve guests on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Rooibos Tea
Rooibos tea is a healthier alternative to other tea varieties as it contains no caffeine and is low in tannin. It also contains Iron, Zinc, Sodium, Copper, Potassium and Calcium.
The only place where this tea is grown is in the Cedarberg Mountains, north of Cape Town in South Africa. It was only towards the end of the 19th Century that the people living in the surrounding areas realised that the leaves of the bush made a fine tea when brewed hot.
This tea is generally served hot with milk.
Iced tea
In the hot summer heat nothing beats a refreshing iced tea. There are some teas which are especially designed to be served hot or cold, so it might be a good idea to try these. It is always better to brew your tea strong when making iced tea as you need to make the flavour strong to compensate for the ice you will add later that will dilute it.

I saw a teapot for sale once that had a picture of a tea plant actually inside of the pot...?
does anybody know what I'm talking about? It had a tea plant that you put in the pot to make the tea. The plant kinda bloomed and was really pretty. What is it called and where can I find them?
