Does anyone know the manufacture of scissors that were made in Germany, has a trademark of an elephant's head?
These scissors come with a letter-opener in a leather case. Both items are gold plated although some plating has worn off. The handles for the scissors is a D and its mirror image. Since they are only marked GERMANY, and I believe that they are old, my guess is that they are Pre - WWII. Any information would be helpful. Thanks
I didn't find it in this list, and it does appear to be pretty exhaustive to me:
http://www.holzwerken.de/museum/hersteller/marken.phtml
the list is from a tool museum
there is only one which makes mention of an elephant:
Elefant mit DUPSIT = Carl Dups, o. H. G., Reutlingen
Buenos Aires - German Cemetery for the Dead of The Graf Spee
