Who is considered the best grass court player?
I am inclined to think it is Pete Sampras. Roger is good on grass. It seems likely that large but because of his general game. It's a toss up between Pete and Roger, but correct J'Adore ... we have to wait until Roger is officially retired before we can make this distinction. Another factor to consider is the fact that fast-paced courts the grass and not the surface that all those years ago. Now it is much slower so I do not think there is no such thing as the game perfect turf. Courts are now much slower and because of this, the classic serve and volley game that has become the typical style of play on a grass court no longer exists. Guys like Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, Stefan Edberg, Bjorn Borg, who have no chance today to win Wimbledon so many titles, as they did. For women, again it is a toss up between Martina Navratilova and Steffi Graf. I would give the advantage to Martina because she was really the dominant player on the lawn of his generation, until a much younger Steffi Graf came along. Venus is best grass court player of the current generation.
