can i afford a good old fashion church wedding?
My b/f and i have talked about marriage, but im scared my family cant afford a good old fashion church wedding. they have money to live nice but im scared to ask them to pay when that day comes. how much can a small cute old fashion wedding cost? in my head im thinking thousands. am i wrong? can i do it for 1,000$ including a reception with plenty of music, wine, and beer?
Most "traditional" weddings cost much more than $1000...the least expensive wedding I have been to was $12,000 (100 guests).
Renting the church actually isn't that expensive- figure a few hundred dollars to pay for officiant and documents, organ player, etc.
The reception is the big cost- it will likely be more than $1,000 just to book a reception hall. If you want to save money you could have it at a family member's house and put all of your money into food and drink (and just rent some speakers and use an ipod/CD for music).
Either keep saving or think about eloping
