Nervous about going to Italy, can anyone help?
I've recently become vegetarian, and I'm really enjoying it...when I cook myself. I dont like not knowing for sure what's in my food. The thing is we're going on a family holiday to Italy. I'm concerned about eating out; I don't want to eat the cheese as we're going right to the south where I'm guessing vegetarianism isn't that popular, so it probably won't be vegetarian. Will there be many vegan dishes? Also - nuts are a no-no because my boyfriend is allergic to them.
Well, lucky you, Italian cooking is surprisingly vegetarian-friendly to start with. But there are many restaurants in Italy that are purely vegetarian. Here's a link to a directory of these restaurants:
