I have been giving my puppy Wellness Just for Puppy canned food - should I switch to blue buffalo?
She liked it a lot but I think she is getting sick of it since their puppy canned food only comes in one flavor. Should I switch her to Blue Buffalo? Do they have a special canned food for puppies? She is a miniature dachshund, she is almost 4 months and is 5lbs.
Maybe switch from all canned food to kibble...My puppy would eat Wellness Super-5-Mix dry puppy formula.
With my first puppy I fed him wet food only and it really wouldn't sit well with him...So I started to mix the canned food with the dry and eventually he only at the dry.I would use less and less canned food every week.Puppies and dogs should always be slowly introduced to new food...don't go cold turkey when switching from his canned food, his stomach needs to get familiar with the new food first before you completely cut out the old food.
Small dogs are prone to tooth decay,so feeding dry food will keep the dogs teeth healthier.
I don't see any need to switch brands but just slowly switch the formula.Blue Buffalo and Wellness are both good bands.Both use human grade-no filler type formulas.
I feed Wellness to my dogs after trying about 3 other brands over the past 2 years.
ADD: Is he sick like back end or front?Maybe he is eating too fast?.. that could be another reason for throwing up food.If its runny stool it may be beacuse the wet food just runs threw him...But either way I would start to introduce him to dry kibble
