Big Green Ganesha
Ganesha, also known as the first god, is welcomed in our homes and hearts with a lot of fanfare each year. The 10 day long festival reinforces our belief in the almighty and is a showcase of our love for our favorite deity.
However, these celebrations come at a cost to the environment. The largest contributor to this is the last day of the festivity – the Ganesha Visarjan. 92.7 BIG FM has promised itself to change this.
BIG Green Ganesha, an initiative by 92.7 BIG FM, is being undertaken for the third year in succession. This initiative celebrates the festival in all it's glory and sanctity, but with an eye on the environment. Here, the ganesha idol is made of papier mache, an outcome of processing recycled paper, which is completely environment friendly.
This year, BIG FM has tried up with RAMKY to make this initiative a lot bigger and stronger in will. RAMKY is India's leading environment company and believes that an initiative like this will strengthen their core belief of ‘keeping the environment green'
RAMKY BIG Green Ganesha extends itself to involve the local populace which owns and contributes to this initiative thereby spreading the message of ‘go green'. This is done through a paper collection drive, where listener's contributions will play a very important role.
