What goes well with purple, black, and medium-blue?
I'm currently working on coloring a picture of my character, and I have a majority of it done. The body, legs, bones of the wings, and arms are black. The belly, a portion of the under-jaw, upper skull, and the membranes of the wings are a medium purple/violet blended with mauve. The inner flesh, paw pads, tongue, etc. are a yellow-gold color.
I need to know what would be best to color the feathers coming out from behind the skull and the fur lining the tail. As it is I can say I've abused black and purple quite a bit. White simply doesn't look right as it makes it appear as though there is too much space. Blues aren't working either, and I can already say green and any shade of pink (including reds) are out.
I would either make those parts yellow-gold or orange. Orange would compliment the blue without clashing with the yellow and purple.
Sounds like a cool image. Fantasy art is my favorite.
