Is "gold lusterware" the right term for these teacups?
I got these gold porcelain teacups with a gold finish on them. I heard of the term gold lusterware, so I looked it up the definition said, it is a metallic opalescent finish. The teacups are metallic gold...but what do they mean by opalescent? Opalescent like a pearl?

No, those teacups are not gold lusterware. Lusterware is much more subtle. Those look like they have used a gold-metalic glaze or paint. there is no opalescense to them, it is a flat metallic color. Here's a link to an image of a lusterware pitcher. As you can see, there is a gold tone to it, but it's shimmery, with other colors mixed in. It's not a flat bright metallic gold like your teacups.
