Is it rare for an african female to have blue eyes?
I have a crush on my newest coworker. she had dark skin like gabrielle union but has dainty nose and lips and slanty eyes. she is somali I believe, but she has the bluest of eyes. she told me she's fully african and is the only one on her family to gotten them.
how could she gotten her blue eyes? unless a italian or arab raped her ancestors way back...

Yes it is very rare but it happens. Maybe it's an albinistic trait, or it could be some European or Arab influence like you said. Like many other East Africans, Somalis have some Caucasian background, which is often reflected in their facial features, although they are usually very dark skinned. Also, this Caucasoid ancestry is there partly because Somalia is located so close to Arabia and Egypt. In fact, the Somali language is distantly related to Arabic, Hebrew, and Berber (North African language).
