what if a couple wishing to get do a court marriage has no witnesses?
just need to know wat if a couple who wishes to get married in the court but cannot have 3 witnesses. what is the way out for this?
For Court Marriage or Marriage under the Special Marriage Act,1954 the parties require any three adult person known to them, need not be their blood relatives (although these blood relations are considered best for marriage/marriage registration witnessing).
If the said couple are getting married in a place where they both or one of them is living for more than 30 days than it seems unlikely that this person or both of them are not having people known to them in their place of work or residence, these people can be made witnesses for the purpose of marriage and its registration. Otherwise too there are so many people in the friend circle who can travel down from their place of residence and be the witnesses for this purpose.
