What are some snacks in the US that are not sold in China or Japan?
A friend I met via OpenDiary sent me a care package form Hong Kong with all these cool treats. I want to send her a car package back, but I know a lot of our foods are already there.
Can you give me a list of snacks I can send that will be uniquely American to her?
Although I've never been to China or Japan, I know that they sell a lot of American snacks there--especially sodas. Coke & Dr. Pepper are both available in Japan, and I would assume China too--and besides, you don't want to send liquids through the mail.
Even if they sell certain items in China or Japan, it would still be a novelty to receive the items in American packaging. I would probably go for newer products, or products that are advertising rock groups, TV shows, sports teams, etc. Not only would it give a "taste" of American life, it would be a collectible item as well.
