Is there any reason you shouldn't buy a phone online from another country eg. Hong Kong/China?
I'm looking at buying a pink Nokia 7373 on eBay, but most of them are from hong kong. It says they're unlocked and in English, but I had a friend who bought a phone in Malaysia and it won't send or recieve mms's no matter what he does, and he's constantly having problems. Would I encounter this buying a new phone from one of these sites?
It is very likely you will also run into many of these problems since the phones aren't tested on the networks here in North America so their performance cannot be guaranteed. One of the biggest problems is many of these phones are tri-band and won't work in many places (depending on your carrier) due to missing bandwidths. The other problem is since the phone doesn't have the settings for data services for North American carriers you will have to input them yourself (if you need help you will have to contact Nokia since you carrier won't help with a phone they have no guide for) and even then there is no guarantee it will work.
