The USSR broke apart because it was comprised of satellite countries that were forced by USSR military to be part of the USSR. When the USSR went bankrupt and couldn't afford to maintain a military, the satellite countries revolted and reclaimed their independence.
The USSR went broke because it had a closed economy that consumed more than they produced. Eventually they had to run out of money and go broke because they spent more than they earned. Perestroika was an attempt by the USSR to ease the competition through negotiation to save money.
They were border line bankrupt when Pres. Reagan announced Star Wars, they couldn't compete any longer and gave up. That is when they Satellite countries reclaimed their right to self determination.
I don't know of any Islamic country we have destroyed in the name of Terrorism except the Criminal Taliban Leadership of Afghanistan, and the Criminal Leadership of Iraq.
The Criminals in charge of those countries were the cause of the invasions. Islam was not the cause of the invasions. Once the criminals were removed, Both of those countries have been restored to the Islamic People of Iraq and Afghanistan.
