Internal Audits
Internal auditsinvolve a professional activity which helps different organizations in achieving their principal objectives. Internal auditing follows a systematic methodology which functions by analyzing the business processes and activities with the key objective of highlighting the problems existing within an organization and recommending solutions for those. The professionals in this field are called internal auditors. The internal auditors work as employees in organizations to perform the activities of internal auditing. Internal auditing has a broad scope within an organization and comes handy in areas like operation efficacy, financial reporting, investigating fraud, compliance with entity's laws and regulations, and safeguarding assets.
But here in this regard, it can be stated that the internal auditors, though a part of the business entity, are in no way related to the execution of entity's activities. The auditors mainly advise the management and the Board of Directors on how they can execute their responsibilities in a better way. Internal audit is an active component of an entity's internal management. Their comments are regarded useful and very essential in finding the appropriate tools for management.
The auditors present an opinion and a critical viewpoint based on evidence which directs the managers in an effective way so as to bring about proper valuation techniques in the business management procedure. Public corporations usually have separate audit body or an internal auditing department which is headed by a Chief Audit Executive (CAE). The CAE is the person in charge who reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. The Institute of Internal Auditors is one of the bodies which set the international standard audit rules and regulations. The IIA comprises 150,000 members and represents 165 nations with a population of approximately 65,000 Certified Internal Auditors associated with it.
