The making of the Blueclay bowl
Bowl Dish

Why has my cat started using the bathroom, both urinating, and bowl movements, next to his food dish?
I have two cats one male and one female. I have had both of them for more than a year. The male cat has suddently stopped using the litter box, and started using the floor, right beside his food dish. Not just urinating, but both. He started doing this about 1 month ago, and had always used his litter box till then. I have 2 litter boxes, one for the female, and one for the male and they will not use the others box. I have not changed the brand of litter, and the surroundings they are in is kept clean. I dont want to have to get rid of him, but if he does not stop, I see no other alternative. Can someone tell me why he has started doing this?
Move the food. Put the cat box where the cat is using the floor, and see what happens.
Go back to the old cat sand you were using before and figure out if you have changed anything else.
A new room deodorizer...cats are sensitive to smell, and you can get cats to stay out of entire rooms, if they don't like the smell.
Mine do not like the smell of lavender. A spritz of lavender air freshener on curtain pieces of furniture keeps them away for weeks at a time.
