how do i remove the blue stripe on a tire?
i have 2 tires form avon for a harley but they have the blue coating from the wide white walls. how do i remove it without damaging the white wall and no, pressure washing or gasoline doesn't work.
if you're talking about the protective blue coating thats on the white walls, what we usually do at the shop is spray them down with "blue cleaner" (just a real potent all purpose cleaner that's blue), let it soak for a minute or so then pressure wash the crap out of them. Some tire manufactures put the blue coating on thicker than others, so it may take some time. Just try different types of heavy duty cleaners and pressure washing it off. I dont think Ive ever seen someone ruin the whitewalls, unless the hit a curb or just due to aging. Hope this helps, good luck to ya!
