Why do americans think that all europeans are blond?
I've seen many, many times references to how a european "should" look or many americans actually wondering why people in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece are not blond therefore reaching the conclusion that they're not true europeans or have "african blood" in them.
Considering that for example the portuguese and the basques have some of the oldest genes in Europe, directly from pre-history, why do americans cling to the stereotype that europeans MUST be pale white, blond and blue eyed?...
only northern europeans are considered the real whites
